Welcome to Reiki Essentials & Wellness

Reiki Essentials & Wellness, LLC. studio and Firefly Gift shop. I am always asked how I started my Reiki journey. After a lifetime of caring for small animals, then friends in distress, and then family members at the end of their life journey, Reiki was the next step in my journey. My Mother-in-Law was diagnosed with various cancers when she told me about a Reiki volunteer giving her a foot massage. I immediately wanted to be the one to be able to do that for her. Unable to do that for my beloved Mother-in-Law, I decided to volunteer for Hospice. I wanted to give back to the Hospice community as they had so generously given to my family with my Maternal Gramma, and again for my Mother-in-Law. Recently, I had a logo designed for the gift shop area in honor of my Momma. I named the gift shop area, Firefly Giftshop in her honor.

Now, about you. Your journey has brought you here for a reason! We are committed to empowering you on your journey. If you have questions about Reiki, Acupressure, the spiritual, the metaphysical, or Love Languages, we can help you. You may come to the Studio looking for answers. Quite often people say they found us "by accident." There are no accidents on your journey. You were brought to Reiki Essentials as an answer to your heart.

Maybe you need answers about your intuition. Maybe you are looking for ways to trust and empower your intuition. We can help you with that Chakra. If you are seeking ways to relax and de-stress, we can assist you with that as well. Stress is responsible for anxieties, obesity, sleepless nights, headaches, muscle tension, heart disease, and more!

If you are interested in an education as a Reiki Practitioner, you've also come to the right place. I have developed a thorough program for my students. If you wish to learn more about this great healing modality and healing system, Reiki Essentials & Wellness might be the place for you. As one of my students and Practitioners, you are nurtured, and encouraged on your journey. My classes are relaxed yet detailed. We take our time, over an entire month, to learn the history, the details and feel the energy. After your certification, your education with Reiki Essentials & Wellness continues through my Practitioner Nurturing program. You will continue to grow spiritually and mentally, having many questions as we continue our journey. We meet regularly with other Reiki Essentials & Wellness Practitioners to learn and encourage one another. No matter what your intentions are for your Reiki journey, you will be supported and nurtured on your journey. If you wish to continue your journey as a Reiki Master, we have a beautiful program for that as well!

New Year, New Digs!

We are so happy to announce that we have expanded the gift shop area into the space right NEXT DOOR to our original gift shop!

We still have the original space, but we now use that for a classroom area; and the meditation & treatment rooms remain the same beautiful, cozy spaces that they always were.

When you visit the newly expanded gift shop area, you can use the front door at 321 E. Main Street or you can use the side door on Madison Street.

Gift shop hours remain Monday throuigh Friday, Noon to 6pm and Saturdays 10 to 4pm. So, come on in, we love to see you!

We have expanded!

You can still find us at 2 S. Madison Street, Waupun, WI for events, classes, and meditation. However, we have expanded the gift shop into the space right NEXT DOOR! The gift shop can be entered from both the Madison Street door, or from our new front door located at 321 E. Main Street. We occupy the same corner on Main and S. Madison.

Be sure to visit us and check out our spacious gift shop area! We now have space to sit and read in our cozy fireplace area. Bring your own warm cup of something or try a sample cup of tea.

Also, we have included a seating area near the back in case you want to use your laptop or take notes from our extensive metaphysical & spiritual library! We have many books available for purchase or to simply borrow. Topics include books on the metaphysical, spiritual, Pagan, Shamanism, Wicca, witchy, folklore and legends.

Regular hours are still Monday through Friday NOON to 6pm and Saturdays 10am to 4pm.

A Christmas Welcome with Krampus

10/11/22 - We have not come up on Halloween yet. Heck, I'm not even done decorating for Halloween! However, the City of Waupun has "A Christmas Welcome" the first weekend in November, so we have to start thinking of Christmas, Yule/Winter Solstice! It's all part of my favorite time of the year, so I'm happy to think on such things. We add items for Yule and the Winter Solstice, as well as Christmas, but it's the Yule logs that I love the best!

This year, a friend of mine showed me a few of her art pieces. She is a magnificent artist! One of her pieces is a statue of Krampus. I asked her if I could borrow her Krampus for the holiday window decor, and she said yes!

A bit of Krampus folklore - Every year in early December, children in Austria get ready for St. Nicholas to visit them. If they’ve been good, he’ll reward them with presents and treats. But if they’ve been bad, they’ll get a lump of coal from Krampus. Actually, it was more than a lump of coal. Krampus is said to bind the bad children and drag them down to Hell!

Who’s Krampus, you ask? Folklore says he’s the half-man, half-goat who comes around every year to chase naughty children. Krampus is a character who comes from folklore in Austria’s Alpine region, where he’s been frightening children and amusing adults for hundreds of years.

Krampus and St. Nick’s other bad boys have their origins in Pagan celebrations of the winter solstice. Later, they became part of Christian traditions in which St. Nicholas visited children to reward them on December 5 or 6. Around that time, his menacing partner would also visit kids to punish them. In Alpine, Austria and some parts of Germany, this day was known as Krampusnacht, or “Krampus night,” when adults might dress up as Krampus to frighten children at their homes. Austrian men would get drunk and run through the streets dressed as the fearsome creature. Like Krampusnacht, the Krampuslauf tradition continues to the present day.

Personally, I'm glad I didn't live in Austria growing up!!!
